Different Age Groups in Girlguiding
Rainbows 4 - 7 years
Girls can join Rainbows when they turn 4 so it’s a good idea to get her name on the waiting list early.

Brownies 7 - 10 years
Girls move up to Brownies when they turn 7 but it’s also possible to join Brownies if you’ve not been a Rainbow so please enquire about spaces if your daughter would like to join us.

Guides 10 - 14 years
Girls move up to Guides when they’re 10. But, like Brownies, you don’t have to have been in Girlguiding before if you want to join Guides.
Rangers 14 - 18 years
Our Rangers units are for girls once they’ve turned 14 and left Guides. They can stay at Rangers until they turn 18. Many of our Rangers are also Young Leaders or Duke of Edinburgh Volunteers.
